Where would a woman be and how would she feel after the man she hoped to marry and who she's been with for half of her life (she's 28) leaves her for another woman? Her name is Andrea, and her reaction and the things she did are what this book is all about. It details her struggle from the pit of loneliness back to the world, living for the first time alone as an adult. The story drives home a lot of points: Nothing is permanent; there are nice people, and there are the other ones; when you're down, there's nowhere to go but up; we can always change; our capacity to love others is only as much as how we love ourselves....My most favorite point of all, and one that I preach to my daughter - it's not really good to commit to a boyfriend at an early age! This is a good chick lit, as it has many good lessons to impart. Additionally, the character of Andrea, though far from ideal is someone with a good heart, and I like that a lot. This is my first book by Ms. Heather Wardell, and let me say to her - "you've got yourself another fan!"

A Life That Fits Toronto Collection Book 5 eBook Heather Wardell Reviews
Love this book. It make me cry and laugh say the same time. Live your life and don’t change for anyone,
I've read three or four of Heather's books now and I know that when I sit down with one, I'll be left satisfied. I'm not sure what it is...the women in her book are ordinary women with ordinary stories, such as a woman who's struggling with a break-up (who hasn't been there before?), but for some reason, I care about what happens to her and I want to know about her life. I'll definitely be finishing out the books available and look forward to more!
I bought this for the Touch in June (19th) and was shown that it doesn't work. It would come up to a page of other books by the same author and that was it. Two different gentlemen worked with me and noted that it was faulty and issued a credit (6/24). It was removed from sale when I checked. When I checked again on 7/13, it was listed again, making me think that it had been fixed. No such luck!
This book was an easy read, a little predictable but truly enjoyable. I can see why some of the other readers complained about Audrey's personality with her indecisiveness about who to date. It seems like it should be an easy decision to make but I think the bigger picture the author wanted to develop was the importance for women to get to know themselves first rather than hop from one relationship to another. This is so true, women look for men to define who they are as a person, their likes, dislikes, etc. I really appreciated that message of this novel and it was written in a fun way. Highly recommend!
This story can be applicable to anyone who needs to make some life changes. It's about relationships and self worth. But could be applied to other situations. Like I'm preparing to retire, getting divorced, lost my mate, done with school, now what?
It shows how people open themselves to new ideas and experiences, and doesn't have to be just about mushy mushy stuff.
Initially, I wasn't sure this would be a book for me. I read the brief description and wondered why anyone would change everything about themselves just to try and lure some loser back. If he can't see how great you are, let him go and move on. However, once I started reading this I thought about it in a different way. We all get into our little ruts in life, doing the same predictable things over and over. Andrea decides to do the opposite of everything that she used to do. Although I thought this was a bit over the top, it kind of resonated with me. Instead of staying in her comfort zone, Andrea forces herself out of it and finds all sorts of new, interesting experiences and she also meets many great people. Andrea is a character who I enjoyed getting to know and I was rooting for her to find happiness.
I bought this book yesterday and have only read a few chapters, but I am not enjoying it so I think it's going to be shelved for a while. The other reviews are so good that I was hopeful but I'm unimpressed. So far Andrea is beyond pathetic; I understand being blindsided by her break-up and all the questions that come after that, but who can lock themselves away in their home for weeks on end without going to work or the store or talking to anyone? All she wants to do is mope, fb stalk her ex and figure out how to get him back despite the fact that he cheated on her. I'm passing on this one now, maybe I'll try again another time and hopefully be more in the mood for a mopey, pathetic, whiny chick - or at least stick it out long enough that she can evolve into something better, But that's not in the cards today
